THE WORST SYSTEM TO SET UP AN ACCOUNT

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

As a vet, we are now forced to set up this account and what company has a verification process that barely works? I truly feel sorry for the elderly who have to try and navigate this incredibly difficult process.

I have been trying to set this up for my mother and it asks for one document after another. Why in the world would my mother's birth certificate name match the social security card name? She's married, of course the name is different. What a flawed system that cannot differentiate that simple detail.

But this is the system I am supposed to trust with my info. I have no idea how ID.me pulled this off and forced the VA to adopt this faulty system, but hopefully enough will be done with this issue and it changes back to the form that is more user-friendly.

Fraud

Contains 3 confidential files for company representatives

My husband, Paul Mazzuca, has been using a falsified DD214 to get veteran discounts and possible benefits. Paul is not a veteran, nor has he ever served in the military. This information can be verified through ID.Me, where the information was uploaded and not properly verified. This information was given to me directly by Home Depot and Lowes. Home Depot and Lowes verified that Paul's profile at the store level shows military. This is for military personnel only. He has even tried to use it to buy a house and was denied because the information could not be verified by the Veterans Affairs office. Paul has obtained a veteran card that he purchased online showing he is a veteran, but he has never served in the military.

I have filed a complaint with ID.Me so they are aware that they have accepted a false DD214 that was submitted by Paul and need to verify Paul's actual military service.

I have enclosed all three versions of the falsified DD214 documents that Paul has been using. Paul has even signed one of them. These documents can be found on his computer, which is in his possession.

I would like to know what I need to do to stop Paul from using this information and posing as a veteran when he has no affiliation with the military. This is a crime, and he is not a veteran. This is a federal offense as he has falsified these documents for his benefit. Paul needs to face the consequences of his actions of falsifying such documents for his personal use. This kind of negligence should not be taken lightly. This kind of action is a disgrace to a real veteran.

I have been trying to login to my id.me account for the past 5 days. I need to get access to my id protection pin that the IRS added to my account.

The pin number is required in order for me to file my tax return. And the options to retrieve your pin is either to login through id.me or order it to be sent to you through postal system which can take weeks to receive.

I need to get my id pin because I am moving into an income restricted apartment and they require proof that the IRS has accepted my tax return.

Basically I need access to the site in order for me to get approved to move into my place. In 3 days I will have to move from where I'm staying now and have no where. To go if I can't login to id.me and get that pin.

So I go to id.me and try logging in but it tells me that I'm entering an incorrect password.

I try a few other possible passwords and all are incorrect and my screen tells me that I have one.more attempt then my account will be locked. I didn't want to have this happen. So I clicked on "forgot password". It then tells me that a password reset link and to security code was sent to my email a d wants .e to input the security code before I can proceed.

I open outlook and find that there has been no emails sent from is.me except for ones from 3 years ago when I opened the account. I checked spam and ever folder to make sure it didn't get filtered and sent to a folder other than my inbox but found. Nothing. I went back to id.me and selected to resend the security code.

Again no code was sent.

I continued researching and troubleshooting such as resetting my browser and adding id.me to my contacts, to learning my cache but still no emails from id.me.

I say to myself ok well I'll just get there phone number and call support. I fortunately I couldn't call and get help signing in because id.me Doesn't OFFER PHONE SUPPORT. ( THIS IS A COMPANY THAT THE US GOVERNMENT USES SO THAT PEOPLE FOR MANY REASONS SOME ARE Critical LIKE Verifying IDENTITY TO ACCESS BENEFITS, OBTAIN housing, Healthcare, file taxes. And they don't even offer phone support for when their website messes up or what about when people with disabilities need assistance accessing id.me?

The only support they offer is to submit a ticket. Frustrated at this point I selected submit a ticket and I could t believe it but after selecting to submit a ticket for support thei k takes me to the sign in page and asks me to sign in. I'm pissed at this point. I felt like this is the site that we are trusting to verify our identity.

We trust that this site can a analyse our documents and IDs and also store it in there database but there website and support offered arent even CC lose to being effective.

So after researching for 2 days I found that the only option I have is to submit a ticket without signing in which I could only do when I changed my mobile browser to desktop mode,(otherwise it doesn't show a link to do this. So I submit a ticket without signing in, I gave them an email and phone. Umber that they can reach me at and I explain my issue I. Great detail as it requested.

I immediately got an automated response stating a live agent will reach out soon and then offers me generic troubleshooting tips which I had read already from the website.

It's going on day 4 now and the only thing that has reached out to help me is roy the robot in the same Automated response email stating if I still need help to try to the email. I went ahead and replied to the email asking for. A live agent but again no live agent. No options for me to get help, I id pin.

And only a few more days until I will be living in my car.

This is not right it's. It fair. What is wrong with our system? I am pretty technical person but I can't help but think of my grandparents or my cousin that has a learning disability and people that can't afford PCs or Internet.

What happens when these individuals need to access id.me but need assistance? And for the most important question is WHY DOES THE IRS CONTINUE TO USE THIS COMPANY AND WEBSITE FOR SOMETHING SO IMPORTANT. Doesn't make you look very professional, ethical, or competent.

This Concerns and disturbs me and I want to see the appropriate changes be implemented so everyone can have the option and ability to use this website and can get an appropriate level of support from id.me nad or the IRS when needed. Especially those individuals with disabilities.

Pros:
  • If everyone had the option to use the services offered it allows for the ability to access tax transcripts id pins and many other essential items instantly opposed to waiting to receive the same items by postal system which takes weeks to receive
Cons:
  • Little support they provide is mostly automated and generic website has issues and no phone support

Preferred solution: More support options including Phone support and a way for individuals to reach and get assistance from a live person.

User's recommendation: Sadly there's not anything customers can do other than complain to id..e and the IRS. People with social networking accounts with large following base and or influencers can inputting it into their discussions and podcasts.

Subject: Request for Assistance to Restore ID.me Account

Dear ID.me Support Team,

I hope this message finds you well. I am writing to seek assistance in restoring access to my ID.me account, which is crucial for managing several important tasks, including my unemployment benefits.

Initially, I created an ID.me account using an askewveronica550@***k email address, which I successfully used some years ago.

Recently, I attempted to access my account using a Gmail address (askewver71@***.com), but unfortunately, it appears to be suspended. I then created another account using dame.vee1110@***.com, but I am unable to access it as it is marked as a duplicate. Moreover, when I attempt to log into my original account, I face difficulties with password retrieval and authentication verification. Despite requesting a code, I have not received any communication to reset my credentials.

The virtual assistant on your platform, Roy, was unable to provide the help I need, and I am unable to connect with any live support for further guidance.

Resolving this issue is critical for me, as I rely on ID.me for accessing unemployment benefits and other essential services.

I kindly request your support in addressing this matter. I would appreciate guidance on how to proceed with recovering my account and any information you can provide on reversing the suspension.

Thank you in advance for your attention and assistance.

This has gone on for about a year or so. Also, I know my emails have been compromised due to fraudulent activity with someone using my information.

Sincerely,

Veronica Askew

This is NOT the Id.Me website. Despite that, you have given your name, tried to give your phone number, as well as 3 different email addresses.

Luckily for you, this website partially blocked out your contact information.

Someone may come along here and post they know a tech expert who can help you and if so, ignore them. There is no tech expert, it is a scam to get you to send money.

What’s the effin point

IDme - What’s the effin point

Nothing on your website can help me solve a problem. Stop being cheap and invest in actual support agents or stop holding hundreds of thousands of people hostage, especially the veterans you claim to support.

Your idea is genius, but your business model is horrible. I've been trying to contact them for a week because I need my account verified due to having a second email. The web guide doesn't work for my case since I no longer have access to my school email. But apparently, it takes more than a week to merge an account.

I submitted a second and third ticket and still nothing. Then, I submitted a ticket to get my name adjusted and it was done within 12 hours. You all have some major issues you need to work on, or move on and let someone do a better job. For the record, I'm pissed being locked out of my account & information just because you all are poor at business.

There were 3 comments on the case, but apparently they are hidden and I have no access to see what those comments are.

So frustrating! I wish I could just cuss you all out while writing this.

Updated by user Jan 29, 2025

ID.me did read my story but have not replied to me or fixed the problem.

Original review Jan 29, 2025
I verified my ID.me account, even did the long video call to make sure it was done right. I then get a notice the next day that my account is temporary suspended.

Never told me why, just asked me a few questions which I answered each day the suspension is on. Nobody at all replied back to me. I have 3 tickets about this issue and not one was addressed.
Because of this, I am locked out of IRS.gov. I am not able to go to the I.R.S.

due to my Dr.

orders so I cannot fix anything without ID.me putting my account back to active.
I have severe copd and the stress of all this has affected my health and breathing tremendously.
This is an awful experience. I am being totally ignored no matter how hard I try to get help.

This is not the Id.me site. If anyone gives you a phone number and tells you it's Support, it's not.

It's a WhatsApp number that is not associated with id.me. Don't let anyone scam you.

Original review Dec 19, 2024
Went to get my military discount at Verizon and IDme couldn't find me because I had changed my E-mail from lkblair75835@***.com to spookyload75835@***.com. Yahoo and myself tried for two days to correct this and gave up.

I have corresponded with a rep and tried the live chat-typed in all the info asked for. Bumped of on your side once and twice little blocks came up saying could not complete try again later. After two weeks on the computer with a rep and three hours on my phone wait for a live rep to come up, I gave up. Of course I can't talk to a live person on the phone so I am out of ideas.

I believe they think everyone has an BS in Computer Science.

Most difficult site I've been on and I deal with the VA! I think it might me straightened up now?

Tried for 2 days straight to get an account with ID me with a veteran who is dying from cancer that needs verification of identity. ID me continues to deny secondary form of identification that is actually listed on their website as a preferred method.

There's no phone call available no phone number to verify or to fix this problem. These people are a third party contractor to the federal government to verify identification they are not doing their job.

What 3rd world country are you in? Nigeria? India?

Why are you trying to scam people? You tried to scam me about my Razer gold and now you are trying to do the same thing again to this person.

Can't unsuspend ID.ME account

Updated by user Feb 03, 2025

I may not have a choice as in this instance. the IRS requires you to go through ID Me

Original review Feb 02, 2025

Using the account info I set up last year, I tried to log onto my ID.ME account. I got the message about wrong email or password.

I tried again and same result. On the 3rd attempt my account was suspended. I tried customer service and even got a ticket number. Instead of a resolution I've received the same form email 6 times.

Nothing in the email covers my situation.

How can an organization that literally holds the key to doing your taxes online, not have a phone number you can call for help. This system sucks and the IRS needs to find another more dependable company.

Resolved: Not able to get military ID verified

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

I am the spouse of a military veteran. I have gone through the ID.ME process to get my military ID verified but the system claims that the info that I am providing doe not match the info in their system when it is correct and exactly the same.

All is good until I am asked to upload a document but it does not state if the document is to verify my spouses ID or my own. I have tried uploading both and neither works.

I have asked to be contacted by anyone (to include a live chat agent) and nothing has happened. In the meantime I am not able to take advantage of military discounts offered by some companies.
